Flipkart inaugurates its second grocery fulfillment center in Andhra Pradesh, located in Vizag.

E-commerce titan Flipkart has established its second grocery fulfillment center in Andhra Pradesh, situated in Visakhapatnam. Covering an area of 77,000 square feet, the new facility is geared towards providing next-day delivery of groceries, featuring a diverse range of over 6,000 products, including dairy, eggs, chocolates, and staples.

With a capacity to handle approximately 8,000 orders per day, the center will serve not only Visakhapatnam but also neighboring areas such as Anakapalle, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram, according to Flipkart.

The decision to establish the second fulfillment center in AP, following Vijayawada, was prompted by the increasing demand for groceries and daily essentials from customers in the Vizag region, which has become a focal point for online grocery shopping, Flipkart stated.

This expansion initiative is anticipated to generate nearly 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, benefiting local businesses, MSMEs, and farmers in the area, the company added.

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart Group, highlighted Andhra Pradesh as a crucial market where the company has observed significant demand for online groceries among local consumers.
